First Fridays at The Sanctuary

You’ve asked for morning events, and you’ve asked for weekday events, so here we are!

June 4th, 2021; 11am-12:30pm

July 2nd, 2021; 11am-12:30pm

August 6th, 2021; 11am-12:30pm

First Friday Mornings is a great way to spend a mental health day playing hooky from work, with coworkers for team building events, bringing the kids or homeschool/childcare groups, or for those of us who work every weekend and can’t make it to our Sunday events, for a smaller, intimate event with an emphasis on education and connection.

This event is $15 per person, all ages, advance tickets or $20 per person at the door.

Take the time to yourself for a quiet, relaxing self-guided tour with our rescued animals or join our Sanctuary Manager for a guided tour and question and answer session to learn more about our residents.

This is an OUTDOOR, SOCIALLY DISTANCED AND MASKED EVENT*!

Please make sure to purchase your tickets for the correct date, tickets can not be rescheduled.

Each guest must have a ticket, regardless of age.

Tickets are non-refundable. If dangerous weather prevents the event from happening, we will reschedule or offer a rain check for a future event.

No food or beverage for animals or humans are allowed at this event.

No companion animals are allowed anywhere on the sanctuary.

*In general, children 2 years and older should wear a mask. Masks offer some protection to you and are also meant to protect those around you, in case you are unknowingly infected with the virus that causes COVID-19. However, CDC recognizes that wearing masks may not be possible in every situation or for some children. Appropriate and consistent use of masks may be challenging for some children, such as children with certain disabilities, including cognitive, intellectual, developmental, sensory and behavioral disorders. All guests over the age of 5 must wear a mask for this event.

Summer Sanctuary Tours!

LIMITED ATTENDANCE EVENT! TICKETS REQUIRED!

June 13th, June 27th

July 11th, July 25th

August 15th, August 29th

11am-1pm

Come spend some time with the sweetest and cutest rescued farm animals in Colorado!

It’s been a rough winter AND a busy spring! We’ve been called upon to provide safe haven for TEN orphaned baby lambs, five tiny calves, three mama goats and their kids, and Luna the Sheep, saved from slaughter so she could deliver her magnificent lamb Buzz, in the warm love and care of the sanctuary.

Everything has been so busy, and we need help snuggling all the adult animals, too! They’ve had a rough winter and need your help giving back scratches and getting all those itchy winter coats shed, but most of all they need to know how much we humans love them. Be a rescued animal petter for the afternoon!

You’ll have access to pens and pastures to meet all the different species who call Broken Shovels their forever home, with their caretakers nearby to tell you all about them.
