Every morning there is a lingering chill in the air, reminding us that summer is winding down and cooler weather is just around the corner. We hope you will spend a late Sunday morning at the sanctuary, visiting with your favorite rescued farm animals and meeting new ones. Our staff and volunteers will be waiting to tell you the animals’ stories. Afterward (or before!), stop by The Creole Vegan and indulge in heavenly cuisine created by Louisiana natives. You don’t want to miss it!

Broken Shovels Farm Sanctuary is a safe place for animals rescued from abuse, neglect, slaughter and exploitation. We do not breed or sell animals. Occasionally, animals are rescued already pregnant and they and their children will live out their lives here, never to be separated, sold or used.
