Resilience & Recovery at Broken Shovels Farm Sanctuary

Are you in need of genuine support but struggling to find someone who feels safe?

Good therapy is built on connection.  At Resilience & Recovery at Broken Shovels, I offer a different kind of counseling experience to foster that connection.  Here, you have the opportunity to engage in traditional talk therapy in the office or while walking and interacting with animal friends outside on farm sanctuary property!

Along with traditional psychotherapy, I incorporate animal-assisted interventions to help you transform anxiety, depression and loneliness into joy, freedom and connectedness.  Engaging with animals can release endorphins that produce a calming effect which can help alleviate pain, reduce stress, and improve your overall psychological state.

I am trained in other effective treatment modalities as well, including: Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acudetox (ear acupuncture) and auricular acupressure.  I also offer cranial electrotherapy stimulation (CES) that is shown to be effective in treating anxiety, depression and insomnia.

I am driven by a desire to guide and empower you through your past/present struggles (e.g. mood disorders, relationship difficulties, addiction, trauma) and into your best life.  My approach is culturally-sensitive, inclusive, respectful, compassionate, and person-first.  I aim to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space for all regardless of color, religion, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, citizenship status, etc., because I believe that every person has worth and dignity and deserves the opportunity to experience emotional happiness, hope, health, relief and recovery.
